What is Semaglutide?
Semaglutide is a peptide that mimics the GLP-1 hormone that is released in the body in response to eating. This prompts the body to produce more insulin which reduces blood glucose sugar. Semaglutide works on suppressing the signals to your brain from feeling hunger.
What is Tirezepatide?
Tirzepatide is a glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP) receptor and glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist.
How is the medication administered?
Injections are administered in the subcutaneous pockets of the abdomen, inner thighs or upper arm. Injections are received on a weekly basis and administered by our specialist.
What are the side effects?
Most potential side effects are seen within the first couple weeks on the program and include nausea, fatigue and mild constipation. These symptoms can be treated with medications and a variety of supplements.
How do I know if I am qualified?
We provide a complimentary consultation for all weight loss programs offered at ILU Collective. We can do general blood work (through your insurance) to rule out certain conditions, but during your consult we take a detailed history to make sure there’s no contraindications.
How often do I have to come in for an appointment?
You have to come into the office every 2-4 weeks. You leave with preloaded syringes to self-administer at home the week you don’t visit us.
